CISCO Academy

In 2003 team of FESB professors with Josip Lorincz initiates local Cisco Networking Academy on FESB-Split. Cisco Networking Academy is a global education program that teaches students how to design, build, troubleshoot, and secure computer networks for increased access to career and economic opportunities in communities around the world. Therefore, Networking Academy delivers a comprehensive, 21st century learning experience to help students develop the foundational ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) skills, along with career skills such as problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. Through specialized courses based on interactive educational materials, Cisco Networking Academy provides preparation for ICT and networking careers in virtually every type of industry. In addition, Academy attendant’s complete hands-on learning activities and network simulations to develop practical skills that will help them fill a growing need for networking professionals around the world.

From 2003 Josip Lorincz has been actively involved in FESB Academy activates, through operative management of academy and lecturing of academy program. During all this years he successfully organize education based on Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) program for 13 generations of attendants. Students learn the basics of the main application protocols, routing, switching, WAN and advanced technologies to help them prepare for the Cisco CCNA certification exam. The CCNA certification is highly valued in the global networking industry and provides validation of the skills and knowledge required for entry-level networking careers.

Such high-quality education has been recognized by many Croatian private companies and public institutions which send their employees on FESB Academy to further specialize its ICT skills. Moreover, students of FESB express huge interest in CCNA program, what results in education of tens of FESB students. Students recognize education on FESB Academy as broadening of classical faculty education and extension of their networking competences in order to increase competitiveness in the labor market. To teach CCNA program, Josip Lorincz must fulfill strict requirements of company Cisco Systems Inc. This results in obtaining two industry appreciated certificates:

  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certificate – International certificate issued by company Cisco Systems Inc. in area of planning, design and maintenance of small and medium size computer networks, and
  • CCNI (Cisco Certified Network Instructor) certificate – International instructor certificate issued by company Cisco Systems Inc. for teaching Cisco CCNA program.

Due to plans of FESB Academy to further extend education process on new, highly appreciated courses such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) course, Josip Lorincz has been involved in process of education for instructor of CCNP program. This result in obtaining first of three CCNP certificates known as:

  • BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Network) certificate - International certificate issued by company Cisco Systems Inc. in area of implementing scalable multilayer switched networks.
