A team of FESB (Faculty of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and naval architecture) students participated in the largest regional student competition in the development of mobile and web applications "LUMEN Development", organized by the student association eStudent. The final competition in which student teams presented developed mobile and web applications to members of the expert jury from renowned IT companies was held in Zagreb, on May 29, 2021. in the premises of the Zagreb Innovation Center (ZICER) at the Zagreb Fair. In the competition of 36 student teams from Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, the student team HexDigit consisted of FESB students from the field of computer science Branimir Bilić, Frane Križanović and Krešimir Levarda, won 3rd place and a cash prize of HRK 5,000.00. Students developed a mobile application under the guidance of mentor Ante Dagelić, Ph. D. and Associate Professor Josip Lorincz Ph. D. within the course "Network and mobile operating systems" which they listen during the 5th year of study. The award-winning SyncBook mobile app allows the connection and synchronization of bookings between travel service providers and travel agencies and agents. According to the expert jury, the developed application is an innovative solution that has great market potential and practical applicability.
